motodemon, you have not had trouble with Castrol GTX and therefore can speak from experience.
However one of the short comings on the Savage is the galling of the overhead cam. Also the Savage needs oil that will do the job of gear and clutch lubrication. I use oil that is more expensive and also more suited to the lubrication of an overhead cam engine and clutch and gearbox. I do this not because I have to, but because I want to!
